Organizations must recognize that it’s time to go from well-meaning to well-doing. To aid in this journey, uExcelerate has invited the community to join us in a conversation about future-ready agile talent management strategies.

Context:

  • Panellists will share their views, strategies, and successes in creating an agile or lean working environment and highlight the impact or struggles they faced when implementing Agile talent management strategies at their organization.

Webinar Summary:

Talent management is commonly anticipating the need for human capital and then outlining a system to meet it.

Talent Management is not just limited to attracting key talent but rather, further developing, retaining, and growing them for the future. It is crucial to engage employees with agility, and this is possible when we train, reskill, upskill and multi-skill them to meet current and future demands.

“It’s better to train, upskill, and multi-skill employees as there is no benefit in having a bunch of employees with no skill or abilities to meet the demand of the company.”

Agile has been working its way into diverse sectors and functions, from technology to marketing, and now transforming how organizations manage and develop their people. However, there are a few critical dimensions of agile talent management:

  1. Agility is an essential characteristic of life: People must recognize their surroundings, and adapting to them is a crucial part of life. We should view change as an opportunity for progress.
  1. Agile Talent management needs employee-focused practices: Helping employees grow and reach their full potential involves designing processes that fit their needs and reshape the employees.
  1. Agility demands improving our technological knowledge:  Being aware of new technologies and effectively using them to be updated on technology.

” We can now respond to the challenges in significantly less time. Coming together and being adaptive and supportive.”

The need for some skills, such as technological, social, and emotional skills, is rising.

Professionals need people with diverse skills, including effective communication, active listening, delegation, and vital soft skills, to attain agility internally. Soft skills are a critical part of people’s success. Soft skills are how you function and interact with others in the workplace. A lack of these essential skills can make or break things for the company. Those who learn to drive agile’s extension into a broader range of business activities will stimulate valuable growth.

“Make people agile or they will be fragile.”

Staying connected to numerous organizations’ members is quite challenging to achieve, but technology plays a vital role here. Covid era opened up many digital features such as zoom, google meet, tools to organize tasks, digital project collaboration, etc. These were existing but gained recognition due to the uncertainty of this time.

“If you don’t accept the uncertainty, it becomes fear, and if you accept it, it becomes an adventure.”

Technology plays a rather supporting role when it comes to connecting with people. It provides the employee a sense of belongingness, ease, and comfort when employees can easily get in touch with the head of the business directly.

In a fast-moving world, almost everything is readily accessible. As a result, companies are actively upgrading their knowledge and supporting the employee with agile practices. In addition, the democratization of learning has allowed companies to encourage and guide their employees and professionals to learn better and quicker with online support, online interaction, and training videos. This has also boosted the morale of the company.

A Restricted Talent Management method cannot fulfill the diverse requirement ( one size doesn’t fit all)

People want personalized solutions and policies curated for particular demands. In addition, companies want to have measurable outcomes and wish to boost accountability by linking individual performance with the work. Therefore, companies are capturing all the activity, its frequencies and measuring the outcome of those activities. By digitizing action and coming up with personalized solutions, leaders drive lasting transformation and development at scale.
